law enforcement in america

So, you're against people getting government grants/help to open and run soup kitchens and shelters?

And you're also against the people that receive money to take in orphans...

Just keep posting so everyone knows where you stand...

I am against anything everything with our federal government handing out money to individuals. That was never meant to be there purpose. As I keep saying that is the states decision and each person for themselves to decide on giving charity to the needy. And I will keep posting what I believe to be true and right.

You already said it wouldn't matter if it's federal or state, you still disagree...

And you say you're not heartless? Seems to me that you are since you say feeding children is wrong...

Thats not what I said. I said its unconstitutional for the federal government to do such things. It is a states responsibility to decide through the people on how they want to handle such matters.

I never said feeding children is wrong. But people have been hammered over the head for decades that only government can feed and help children and any other idea or suggestion is just plain cruel.

If it was the states you said you'd still disagree with entitlements, including free lunches at schools for the children...

If you were in power and had the choice, you'd end all entitlements, which you would stop giving children free breakfast and lunch at school... so whatever you say to try to make yourself not look heartless wont work...

Yes I would end all entitlements. And look for incentives for individuals, small businesses and corporations to invest in such charity. People tend to be more generous to help others when they have a say on who it's going to help.

'Cops' crew member killed in police shooting
Posted: Wednesday, August 27, 2014 5:56 PM EDT

(CNN) -- A crew member working on a taping of "Cops" was inadvertently shot and killed by a police officer during a robbery in Omaha, Nebraska, local officials said Wednesday.

Bryce Dion, an audio technician, is believed to be the first member of the "Cops" production staff killed in the 25-year history of the television show.

The production company behind "Cops," Langley Productions, said in a statement that it was "deeply saddened and shocked by this tragedy and our main concern is helping his family in any way we can."

Dion, 38, had been in Omaha all summer, helping with the production of future "Cops" episodes. The production company described him as a "long term member of the 'Cops' team and a very talented and dedicated person." His resume lists credits on "Cops" dating back to 2009.

Todd Schmaderer, the Omaha police chief, confirmed at a Wednesday afternoon news conference that a bullet fired by an officer struck Dion during a shootout with the robbery suspect, Cortez Washington, who was also killed.

I read about this story. It is tragic for the crew member. The article doesn't say it, but there are reports that the suspect had a pellet gun that fired fake bullets: http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/cops-crew-member-wounded-nebraska-shootout-25149174

yeah, that's pretty sad...

i understand how dangerous it is for the crew to get out that car and follow the cops that chase people on foot, and sometimes i see them chasing the person that the cop is chasing... haha, why are you in front chasing this guy while the fat cop is behind you out of breath?

they know what they are getting into, most police stations must have everyone sign something and that they agree to the terms... as well as the dangers...

the cop and many with him just suck, and suck at shooting and/or aiming and especially in a situation when cops lose their cool or composure to handle things without violating and/or abusing with unneeded and/or unnecessary force... i also understand that the job can be dangerous and heated at best, but if you can't handle it then don't be it, and move on to a desk job or something...

But remember.... there is no need to secure the border and the police are the main problem in America today.

17 Sept

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Cops are on the hunt for a previously deported 14-year-old illegal alien suspected of trying to execute a teenaged human smuggler on the Texas border in an apparent cartel hit. The victim in the case had a lengthy criminal history that had already resulted in two deaths.

While details remain unknown, investigators with the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office began looking into the case on Sunday when they found a 16-year-old with a gunshot wound to the head inside a crashed vehicle. The victim survived the hit but ended up dying on Monday morning; Justice of the Peace Luis Garza pronounced the teen dead at a local hospital and ordered an autopsy.

While authorities have not released the victim's name, Breitbart Texas has learned that the teenager has a lengthy criminal history that includes several human smuggling arrests and deportations. In October, 2012 the victim drove a red Ford pickup filled with illegal aliens as he tried to elude authorities. The pursuit ended near the border town of La Joya when a Texas State Trooper in a helicopter fired several shots at the truck eventually blowing out its tires. The bullets struck three illegal aliens from Guatemala killing two of them. Since the shooting, DPS has changed its use of force policies.

Authorities have developed a person of interest in the case, however Breitbart Texas has learned that a possible suspect is a 14-year-old male who had been previously been arrested and charged in juvenile court and had been deported three weeks ago. Law enforcement sources have confirmed to Breitbart Texas that one of the leads that investigators are looking at is a possible cartel hit.

Hahah, well to be honest, I think a robot would be much better in this case because it doesn't necessarily have to "defend" its life like a human cop would; therefore, it wouldn't have to exert force to the point of it becoming deadly because a robot is not alive. It could determine the necessary force, and that might eliminate the need for the intervention of a dozen responding officers to subdue any suspected criminal, as well as eliminate the possibility of the death of an officer or the suspected criminal.

If we were to start shooting K9 police dogs in the back of police cars because such dogs bark when someone passes near the car, these cops would arrest such folk because shooting such trained dogs is considered a crime & rightly so!!!! This is a "double standard" with an attitude "us cops have the right to shoot guard dogs no matter what the situation is" but don't shoot or kill specially trained police K9 dogs because they are specially trained !!!!! "What hypocrisy" !!!!!

COLUMBIA, SC -- A drunken sheriff's deputy was recorded during a strange and inappropriate altercation when he tried to arrest a female soldier at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Columbia.

On October 7th, 23-year-old Brittany Ball, a USMC member out of Fort Jackson, was allegedly upset at the restaurant when approached by Richland County Deputy Paul Allen Derrick. She apparently turned down his advances and the two began to argue.

Derrick, a 17 year veteran, left the restaurant to go retrieve handcuffs and his gun from his vehicle, then returning to try and arrest Ball. He was recorded screaming at her and barking orders as he twisted her arms behind her back.

Columbia police arrived and saw the video and ordered Derrick release Ball, then took Derrick into custody and charged him with assault and battery

Sheriff Leon Lott initially backed Derrick, saying that he had authority to make an arrest, suggesting that Ball was "resisting".

After a week of pressure and reasoning, Sheriff Lott placed Derrick on leave without pay

this is so disrespectful!

why do cops think they can make up rules and laws and if we don't bow down to them then they can punish you? they lie, make things up, make up laws, etc. and why do cops think it's illegal for someone to video record them when it's been proven over and over again by judges that recording is not against the law...

You know, whenever I read or come across a story concerning corruption or police brutality - an all-too-common occurrence unfortunately - I think about the words of former Los Angeles Polcie Dept. Chief William Parker who, when asked about how the LAPD - no stranger to either police brutality or corruption (though to be fair, the NYPD could give their LA brethren lessons on corruption) - was quoted as saying,
"We'll always have cases like this because we have one big problem in selecting police officers...we have to recruit from the human race."

For every couple of good, honest and decent cops out there - and there are a few still in this day and age - there are going to be those who will abuse their authority, who will use their badges as means to scam and cajole the citizenry, who will violate the law, thinking that they must do so in order to enforce the law....and they wonder why no one respects them anyone? Well, I would say to them, 'take a look at your fellow officers first'...:@
