Least Favorite Classes?

English is also annoying, the way they study the books is insane. I doubt a lot of the writers really meant that much in their books...

As a writer, I'll agree with that. I have no idea what I meant in most of my stuff.

For example...

I was sent an email from a reader who had seen all sorts of internal conflict in the character of Mike in Power at the Mall in his relationship with his girlfriend in an early scene.

They asked me if I had any insight into the inner dynamics of the person or some such nonsense.

I didn't have the heart to tell them that I'd originally written it a dozen years ago and was probably so drunk on cheap bourbon that I was lucky to be sitting at the keyboard and just wanted to finish the damned chapter before I staggered off to bed.

I answered her that I thought she was getting close to the mark in the inner conflict between Mike and the Power and let it go at that.

Oh well.

As for a class I hated....

Here's one from the real world.

Human Resources MANDATED that as a condition of continued employment that we sit through a three day Diversity and Sensitivity training class.

Some of us took it as a how to workshop on things to do to people who take themselves far too seriously.
