What does it take for you to leave a forum and never come back?

Have you ever done it?

I've done it a number of times, just boredom, same old stuff day after day, no new people to talk to, annoying members.

Same here, for various reasons. I mean, you can only talk about a certain subject for so long, say if the forum is based on a certain niche.

Usually If the people are being mean to me. Or if I accidently forget about it. There was this anime forum I left becuase this guy was being a total jerk to me all becuase I was a fan of the game Malice, which he didn't like.

I know I've accidently forgotten about forums before. I can't remember why I left or anything, and then two years later, I'll be searching for a certain niche to participate in, and then it's like, wait, this forum looks familiar, and then I'll register an account, and it'll say that my email is being used by another member, and then it's like, I can't remember when I register on the forum until I look at the profile. It gets to be an embarrassing experience, sometimes, let me tell you.

I've left forums yeah for various reasons. Mainly cause I joined a forum that dealt with a specific subject and I felt like I no longer needed the help/support that the forum offered me.

I've never left a general chat forum, though I might. If I did, it would be down to issues with other members.

Boring forum or horrible staff (I can take horrible normal members but I have been in a forum with a Admin who is a A******e)

- lack of intresting/new topics

- inactive members/staff

-inactive admins or admins that do give a damn about it

- staff who ban me because i was right

Rude staff and members. On one forum I said I didnt like a band and the mod flew off the handle at me and also kept editing her posts to make me look like a right idiot, I told her she was overreacting, to stop being childish and she banned me... The admin sorted it out, but bugger that.. If mods are power hungry like that I can't be bothered.

Being banned forever would likely stop me from ever coming back

The only thing that makes me leave a forum is rude staff, trolls, not enough interesting topics and such.

members who act like they run the place, inactive forum

i once left a forum for good when some members flamed me because i didn't take a joke that well

I've left quite a few due to playground mentality i.e. fellow posters acting up as though they are spoilt little brats in kindergarten. Others due to runins with the administration.

Unfortunately its grown adults acting like that too most of the time.

You got that right, Neb!

I must have left many forum over the years mostly because my interest might shift and that forum is not relevant to me any longer.

I'm the same way. I was a member on another forum for 6 years happily posting until I just lost interest and decided to do something new.

Rude, inconsiderate staff members or a lot of the member base in general. An ugly style for the forum with no option for a better style. A very disorganized forum. A forum that is so active that you barely get any visibility. Loss of interest in the forum's primary subject.

Yes, I have left boards for some of these reasons.
