Have you ever left a forum (or your activity dropped severely) due to something / someone that upset you?

Share your stories..

I left a host that I was support staff at. The admin was really rude and never praised us for working for free. Thus, he started to complain about my activity, because I do have a life and had off times, and he didn't understand, so I left.

I was a member on forum that was being run by a dictator, and was plain mean called people dumb so i said nope and left.

Sometimes if something really pisses me off, I tend to visit that forum more just because its on my brain. Granted its not positive thoughts and I'm probably not posting there, but yeah...

Other times, when I am mega pissed off, the forum is blacklisted and I never visit it again.

There's been at least two times I've left two different forums due to their activity dying out.

With very small forums, i usually will go and post a few posts on there to help out the owner, then leave.

I'm actually currently active on only a few forums..

I left a forum because some thread got started about a Moderating position becoming available and everyone was posting who they wanted, and I was a main contender. He then sent me a PM saying you ******* ***** because he really wanted to be the moderator (I couldn't care less), So I posted his Pm in the forum, wrote I nice message about why I was leaving the forum, then cancelled my premium membership. He got banned permanently by the Admin and I have not been back there since.

I was an extremely helpful member of a support forum which shall remain unnamed. The admin and I had a disagreement over a simple little thing and banned me. I was dedicated to the forum and managed to talk my way into getting my ban uplifted and was eventually made a staff member, due to my helpfulness. However, the members didn't like this and photoshopped a PM and made it look like I told to member to piss off. Tried to explain that I never recalled sending such a message, but was again banned from the forum.

I left after that and have returned, but never signed up.

i once left a nintendo forum because some member played a mean joke on me

I've majorly dropped activity in one forum that I actually have 109,000 posts on, ChristianForums.com - Don't even bother going there.

I left due to four people at the time who ran the place (Advisors), basically, what they wanted to do, they did.

The fast that I rewrote a training manual, worked my butt off, had the highest number of staff actions (8000 in one month) and all the other crap i did for them including writing custom code to fix their crappy infrastructure apparently meant nothing from them when I got booted off staff for 'not doing enough work' - however, this was during the month when I filed 8000 mod actions. I've never seen a single one of them help out in a report. Not once.

They act with disrespect to members and staff, have restructured staff yet again recently, are up themselves and have screwed over several major sections on the site. They created their own worst enemy with me, since I know every little bit about that site, how to take it out in less than ten minutes, where everything is, all their dirty little secrets... Then they went and screwed up the section I was modding (Teens) and so we left, hence the creation of the two forums I currently work on. They stuffed up the Catholic forums as well, so they left and a bunch came to us. They screwed over the recovery forums (possibly the most delicate forums on the site, dealing with people who have ED's and SI issues) and now a bunch of them are coming to us as well.

And yet I still return to help out the members. >.<

Don't ever, ever go there.

Why leave it unnamed? We'd like to know to avoid that place.
Good point. I was going to leave it unnamed to stop people going it, but now that you mention it.... Forumotion. Believe it or not.

Sure is.

http://www.christianforums.com/users/234056/ - my profile there. I'm in the top 25 posters on the site, have the most 'blessings' - their currency thing, like Off Topix bucks (Account Balances: Checking: 11,010,466,980 Blessings | Savings: 100,000,000,000 Blessings)...

That being said, I can do 5,000 posts in a day if I really get going. Speedposting...

Ive never posted that much on a forum ever. I had 25,000 on another forum I ran and it took me nearly 2 years to get there.

How on Earth do you manage 5,000 posts a day. I hardly manage 5,000 posts a year!

When I was on staff, there was no flood limit.

And I'm a coder, remember?

I left a forum recently. Had enough of being called a racist because some people can't take a joke.

I posted this as joke and then someone had a go at me so, I said that 90% of Americans I've met on Xbox Live & the internet actually think that world is like that, and America is the best thing EVER. I was saying how they were total pricks. Suddenly, I was calling every single American an idiot despite the fact I said I have met some truly amazing Americans online.

I even want to move to America because I like the life style. I wouldn't move to somewhere where I hate the people would I?

But whatever
