I've gotten threats from problem members after they've been banned, which didn't phase me. Just ignored those.
I've heard of members threatening to sue when forum owners didn't remove their posts when they requested that. Sending DMCA and cease-and-desist letters.
They can seem scary but usually they have no actual legal mumbo jumbo to back them up. Its just an intimidation tactic.
