Do you give up anything for Lent?

What have you given up in the past?

(I dont remember what religion does this)

I think i remember doing this in school when i was like 6, i may be wrong though. I think it's a Christian thing?

It's a Catholic deal. I have tried giving up things for lent in the past, but now I don't even bother, because I try giving up something, and it doesn't last very long. I remember last year in our religion class I'm helping with, the teacher had all these things to give up on pieces of paper in a shoebox, I believe, and the kids dew out a piece of paper and whatever they picked, that's what they had to try to give up. It's a story that's really hard to explain. You're also supposed to fast during lent, and make it so you only have three small meals or something, but I know there're exceptions like if you have health problems or if you are a certain age. It's kind of hard to explain. But like I said, I've tried giving up things for Lent before, but it never works out for me.

Edit: I'm sure there are probably other religions that have this holy obligation as well, but as far as I know, Catholics are one of the big ones that have it. Not sure if Lutherans or any other religion put as big of emphasis on it or not.

First time I've heard of it actually, and since I'm not catholic, I don't participate in it.

At first, I thought this was about the clothes lint. lol

Ashley, I dont mean to be rude, but I have to correct you;

It was origonally a Catholic thing, but now it's evolved into a christian thing
