This photo shows the moment that a lesbian couple were left ‘shocked’ after people complained about the pair kissing at a food festival.

Mog Wilde and Freya, 35, from Pembrokeshire, were visiting the Cardiff Bay Food Festival when other festival-goers complained about their ‘obscene’ displays of affection and a security guard was called to ask them to stop.

‘We were dancing to the live music and I kissed Freya because she looked so beautiful and it was her birthday.’ Mog said.

‘Then someone came up to us and told us it was disgusting and to stop because there were children around but this was a public place and we were not doing anything wrong.

‘I am quite fierce and not a shy girl so I brushed it off. But it did leave me a bit shaky’.

‘This happened on the same day Gay Pride was happening only 30 mile away in Bristol. It is 2015 not 1815. We honestly did not think this would happen here’.

Onlookers reported how a handful of ‘middle-aged ladies’ were offended by the display of affection and complained that it was ‘disgusting’ because ‘children were there’.

And when security staff asked the couple to stop kissing, one eyewitnesses report that ‘Two straight guys came up and publicly supported the girls by kissing each other in public.

‘It was a jokey, possibly drunken, show of support by those around them at a festival, including two gay men who had also started kissing in support.’

Festival stewards received a number of complaints from members of the public about a couple who were engaged in a very strong display of public affection at the festival’, they said.

‘Once the couple in question had been identified a steward approached them.

‘They reminded them that sexual behavior of this level was inappropriate for what is very much a family event.

Do you agree or disagree that them kissing was inappropriate and why?

I have no problem whatsoever with human females kissing each other in the most inappropriate ways whenever possible.

In this world of hate we live in, it is nice to see love on display, why should children be shielded from that? They should be protected from hate and violence not love. Kissing is not 'obscene'. Children would not be shocked at couples kissing if they have sensible parents who explain it as a couple who love each other.

Yeah, that's what I said, but with fewer words. :D

hmm, if they were endlessly making out, then I suppose someone should have said something. Same goes for a straight couple making out endlessly.

However if it was just a brief thing, then no harm done. Who cares?

I guess it depends, maybe it wasn't an appropriate place for anyone to me making out, maybe if a heterosexual couple were sucking face they would have been told to stop as well, maybe if that couple knew there were lots of kids around that they should have been a little more discrete .. I don't see loads of heterosexual people making out in that photo

From what I understand there were children who saw and of course
wouldn't understand.

Not everyone is going to like all that you do whether straight or gay!~

I can tell you. Its simple. Its called Public Display of Affection, or PDA. A lot of people, especially where I live are against PDA. Public Display of Affection. Me and my wife were kissing in a waiting room and an old man bitched at us over it. I used to have a girl friend in high school that I made out with. We both got wrote up for a PDA and my parents told me that there is a time and place for things.
