NASA confirmed the suspension of high level contact with the Russian government officials in a statement Wednesday night.

"Given Russia's ongoing violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, NASA is suspending the majority of its ongoing engagements with the Russian Federation," a spokesman said. Operations aboard the International Space Station, which is a wholly collaborative effort between the two nations, are exempt from this suspension.

Just last week, a trio of astronauts, including two Russians and one American, launched into space on a Russian rocket, headed for the International Space Station. Without a shuttle program of its own, NASA depends on Russians to ferry its astronauts to and from the station, and pays them $70.7 million per seat. The U.S. space agency is working with private American companies to develop rockets and break out of Russia's transportation monopoly.

"NASA is laser-focused on a plan to return human spaceflight launches to American soil, and end our reliance on Russia to get into space," Wednesday night's statement read. "This has been a top priority of the Obama Administration's for the past five years, and had our plan been fully funded, we would have returned American human spaceflight launches—and the jobs they support—back to the United States next year."

Last week, Hagel said the swap was a unanimous decision made by senior officials
Hagel is expected to defend the prisoner exchange on Wednesday in an appearance before the House Armed Services Committee

White House Press secretary Josh Earnest speaks to the media during the daily briefing in the Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Washington. The White House says it is "reserving judgment" on Russian President Vladimir Putin's call for extending a weeklong cease-fire in Ukraine, saying it puts more stock in Russia's actions than its words. After previously saying America’s borders are more secure than ever, the White House on Tuesday seemingly blamed Republicans for apparent holes along the southern boundary, evidenced by the flood of unaccompanied children streaming into the U.S. from Mexico, Central America and elsewhere.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest challenged Republicans, if they are truly concerned about border security, to back the comprehensive immigration reform package that passed the Senate last year and is strongly supported by President Obama.

“If we really wanted to solve this problem, one good way to do it is for those Republicans to get on board … and support common sense immigration reform,” Mr. Earnest told reporters.

Mr. Earnest also said the administration has made a “historic commitment” to border security over the past five years, but the White House last week announced a new surge of resources to combat the stream of illegal immigrants.

Maybe explain why they're lies or why you think they are?

On another note, usaf has mini space shuttles in their fleet... even before NASA stopped the shuttle program...

Mini space shuttles? Piloted by little green men? Cool.

Anyway

The second paragraph is in direct contradiction of the next two. Both Statements CAN NOT be true.

They are calling themselves liars.

Remember Smooth, there are still those who are true believers in Our Beautiful President and will automatically call anybody that says anything other than how marvelous he is and how nicely he strides across the reflecting pool every morning is a racist hater.

Right?
