I love progressive metal and hard rock personally. I love classic rock bands as well. It's a shame that more recent music has downsized the meaning of true talent these days.

I like classic rock, rap and r&b (old school and new stuff) mainly. GF always finds all these independent / unknown musicians and puts them on my ipod. Some of that is cool too.

I dislike country.

I don't really have a specific genre that I can say I definitely like the best. I listen to a wide variety of music including pop, J-pop, some soft rock, oldies, and even country. I don't care for rap, however.

I like almost every kind of rock up until the 90s. (Classic Rock, Country, Punk, Hard Rock, Folk Rock, Pop Rock, New Wave etc.)
I dislike modern pop, dubstep and most modern electronic music.

I'd rather listen to it and him be in a good mood over me getting what I want and him being a grumpy bitch all day.

I'm not sure what's out on the market these days as I don't listen to country music... at all, though I looked on Youtube under a play list entitled Country songs 2014 and picked out a few that I played and didn't like.
