What amount is required to live comfortably once you retire?

It's pretty hard to tell these days with inflation and all. Some people who retired 20 years ago (back in the mid 2000's) are having to come out of retirement to work again because their money ran out.

Most financial planners say you need over a million dollars to live comfortably for retirement. Here's what people need to understand, if you have health issues, it will really gobble up your money to receive care. If you need to go to an Assisted Living Home, it could cost you $5,000 a month or more easily.

I guess its tough to calculate an amount looking at the inflation and we should also look at our requirements as some do prefer a lavish life but some are fine with a normal life

Probably, these people might not have retired with a pension.
