Lottery winner flushes £333,000 down toilet

A lottery winner got drunk on Champagne before flushing £333,000 down the toilet so nobody could take it off her.

Metro reports that 63-year-old Angela Maier's win of 402,000 euros on the German national lottery prompted the care home where her husband died to send her a bill for his medical expenses.

She downed five bottles of Champagne a few days after her windfall, before opening the letter demanding payment. Sent into a fit of anger, Maier tore cash into pieces and flushed it down the toilet.
