National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists have found a solution to the 15-year “pause” in global warming: They “adjusted” the hiatus in warming out of the temperature record.

New climate data by NOAA scientists doubles the warming trend since the late 1990s by adjusting pre-hiatus temperatures downward and inflating temperatures in more recent years.

“Newly corrected and updated global surface temperature data from NOAA’s [National Centers for Environmental Information] do not support the notion of a global warming ‘hiatus,'” wrote NOAA scientists in their study presenting newly adjusted climate data.

He graduated as a chemical technician which certainly isn't a master's in chemistry. But with a science based education, he's still more qualified to discuss this than Santorum is!

2016 Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum really stepped in it when he tried to lecture Pope Francis about climate change, telling him to "leave science to the scientists", only to find out that he IS a scientist!

If the planet is warming and the data conclusively shows it, why do they have to keep 'adjusting' the numbers?

because science/humans is/are constantly wrong...

human error as well as technology error...

the planet is warming up by it self, but with human's technology and populations, i'm doubtful that humans aren't helping the situation...

But since it IS warming, that means the Vikings can move back to Greenland and raise sheep again.

Good.

good try, the planet rotates and changes its position with the sun and the moon... ;)

also, places in and on the planet changes its weather and environment as well...

just because one place wasn't a ice-land before and then became one holds no ground of evidence to support that the earth is not warming...

...Santorum was also (and still is) the subject of a very crude political neologism....quoting the Wiki:
The campaign for the neologism "santorum" started with a contest held in May 2003 by Dan Savage, a sex columnist and LGBT rights activist. Savage asked his readers to create a definition for the word "santorum" in response to then-U.S. Senator Rick Santorum's views on homosexuality, and comments about same sex marriage. In his comments, Santorum had stated that "In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be." Savage announced the winning entry, which defined "santorum" as "the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex". He created a web site, spreadingsantorum.com(and santorum.com), to promote the definition, which became a top internet search result displacing the Senator's official website on many search engines, including Google, Yahoo! Search, and Bing.

...anyway, going back on topic here....

True, but just as man moves along, so does the earth....like I said earlier, for all this talk of "global warming", if we have just one Krakatoa-event, you can forget global warming; we'll be lucky to survive global cooling...

that's totally something else entirely though, @Webster...

global cooling can be an after affect of a rock to earth collision, an nuclear war or perhaps an volcanic explosion from a volcano or yellow stone... ;)

...or it could be the effects of technology actually benefitting mankind, Justice...

that's your opinion if technology is benefiting the human race but we're talking about the planet...

to say that humans and their technology is cooling the earth is funny...

thanks for the laugh... ;)

Then why is it they always say the Earth was "warmer and wetter than it is now" when they talk about the dinosaurs. All that carbon from Fred Flintstone-mobiles and Bront-farts?

Also, the Chinese reported Ice Free passage through the Arctic Ocean around the same time the Vikings were over here, give or take 1000 AD.

who is they?

and i'm failing to understand your point when you're taking theories and assumptions and trying to make them as facts... ;)

Theories & assumptions....isn't that global warming in a nutshell?

that's your opinion if technology is benefiting the human race but we're talking about the planet...

It is not opinion it is absolute fact.

to say that humans and their technology is cooling the earth is funny...

To say we are doing either is funny.

thanks for the laugh... ;)

Good.

I myself have a good spot picked out with planted palm trees on what I am sure will be nice warm water to swim in. ;)

your own science guy...

yeah, technology is benefiting the human race by making the human race lazier and stupider...

The Stephan Hawking guy who is alive because of technology that gave him the ability to share the knowledge of the universe and be claimed one of the smartest people in history.

But I did not say technology is all roses and chocolates but it creates far more good then bad.
