Make the best pets? (aside from dogs & cats)

Mini pot-bellied pigs! They are so sweet and full of personality. I've never had one but I've always wanted one.

Cockatiels are a fun pet. They're sweet, loving, & needy.
Probably way more interesting than Budgies, I've never lived with one. :)

But Budgies make pretty cool pets, too; especially if one gets established in the home before the cat. That way the Budgie will teach the cat a thing or two about manners and respect. :p

For me personally, it's cats. They're a lot easier to take care of than dogs. You just have to keep their box clean and feed them, at minimum. They pretty much take care of themselves, although they do need love and attention. My cats act more like dogs anyway.

We had pet rats and they were so cute and fun to play with. We had a total of 13 (I think) in our lifetime. Most people see rats as ugly, creepy, disgusting creatures, but domesticated rats are something else!

My grandma and thought uncle had pet birds which I found neat. I also think Guinea pigs made good pets, but all the ones we got died a bit earlier than we thought.

I prefer dogs and cats, but since we're excluding those, I'll go with rabbits :)

Enough said.

I think cockatiels tame a lot easier and they get more and more friendlier over time. I have to say they're really sweet birds once they get used to you. Ours lets us pet him all day long. He craves attention.

Dogs are my pick IF you can spend time with them. When I was single and away all the time, I actually really wanted a Tegu as they are basically puppies that don't mind being left alone for days.

Tegu - - - a lizard?
Yes, one of those! I have had lizards my whole life up until around 22 years old, but the largest was a Breaded Dragon. At one point I wanted to focus my hobby on a singular Tegu, but as the relationship grew and kids became a thing, the Tegu idea was rapidly replaced with dogs.

Had a few of those over the years, they are sweet! ....and smart!

Budgies are cool, my mom had a couple back in the day.

Cats are excluded from this topic. Can you think of any other pet besides cats and dogs? :P

Rabbits are cool but they chew on everything and they are poop factories.

Put that in the Topic Subject, many skip the OP.

Done :D

This is true, on both counts, which is why I'd stick with a cat or dog :D

I had one back in the day and I wanted to litter box train him so I could let him hop around the house. What I got was rabbit shit everywhere and ruined baseboards and furniture all over the house. Lol

Yep, same, my sister had one, a floppy-eared bunny named Flopsy (original, right?), it was absolutely amazing how much shit it produced! Just ridiculous levels!

I know right. How is it even possible that they poop more than they eat?
