City workers have been spotted in London wearing micro suit shorts during the recent heatwave.

The bizarre sartorial trend was spotted on the streets of the capital as temperatures soared to a sticky 26 degrees.

A tailor spent two weeks creating the bespoke bum huggers, before a team of male models were dispatched to stroll through iconic sites including Canary Wharf tube station and the Square Mile.

Secret cameras caught the looks of horror and amusement on the faces of passers-by as the models strutted by, sat next to commuters and even deliberately dropped keys before bending down to pick them up.

Apprentice star Nick Hewer tweeted: "Micro suits on grown men! The Horror!", while Binky from Made in Chelsea tweeted: "Wowza. Those are very VERY short shorts. Don't really know where to look. *blushing*"
