RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Rensselaer County man has pleaded guilty to child sexual exploitation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Zachary Frye, 28, was previously convicted of promoting the sexual performance of a child.
As part of his plea hearing, Frye admitted to taking multiple sexual photographs of a five-year-old child back in October of 2019. At the time of the offense, he was reportedly required to register as a sex offender due to a previous conviction for a similar crime.
Frye also confessed to digitally sharing the photos with another person as part of an online conversation discussing sexually abusing children. He now faces between 25 and 50 years in prison, a post-release term of supervision of five years and up to life, a fine up to $250,000 and restitution to be paid to the victim.
Frye will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release. His sentencing is scheduled for August 7.
