A video of a man riding a 14.5ft bicycle called 'Stoopidtall' through the streets of Los Angeles is going viral online.

Stunt cyclist Richie Trimble staged the stunt to celebrate CicLAvia - an LA-based festival of alternative transportation.

Two friends held the bike study while he climbed up into the saddle before setting off, towering over other cyclists and vehicles.

The video shows Mr Trimble weaving through traffic, squeezing under a bridge, before finally cycling to the end of the pier on Venice Beach for a dramatic dismount.

According to the cyclist's Vimeo page, the bike took just 12 hours to make and used a 32.5ft long chain.

More than 600,000 people have watched the clip on video sharing websites YouTube and Vimeo.

No.
For one thing I'd expect to be stopped by police very quickly.
That aside, he couldn't stop (obviously) so I wouldn't be able to use it anywhere within the city and there tend to be trees outside of the city.
Also, there's no way I'd risk going up or down a hill on that thing.

It would appear to be real

And, I'm sure the next guy will have fun on new bike that is even taller..... until he runs into a power line.
