Scout said:I do not claim, whatsoever, to be telling doctors what they can and cannot do. I am simply stating my opinion, that marijuana does not aid in the treatment of an ill person.
As stated, marijuana weakens the immune system, therefore prescription of the drug is counterproductive. It is a known fact, every doctor I have spoken to about the subject has said the same thing.
This is why I would never advise anyone (doctor or not) to supply people with weed to help a person get over illness. There are far better alternatives.
And your opinion is based on doing a tiny bit of research. I think I'd trust a doctor who decides to prescribe marijuana and has spent several years in medical school and several years treating patients. Marijuana has several beneficial qualities in it as I posted here: http://offtopix.com/showthread.php?tid=442&pid=4485#pid4485 which actually help people with certain illness's.
Every medication out on the market has downsides and side effects, that doesn’t mean they also don’t help the patient as well.
Besides just about everything in the world is bad for you. We should make marijuana illegal because it has things that can harm us in it? Lol.
If I took three perfectly healthy people and subjected one to daily heavy marijuana use and subjected one to daily heavy alcohol consumption and subjected the other to daily heavy fast food consumption.. Who do you think would be the last one alive? The marijuana user. Strange that is the only one that is illegal.
