Two complete strangers have made the ultimate commitment to each other by getting hitched just minutes after meeting.

According to a report in The Sun, Emma Rathbone and James Ord-Hume tied the knot while appearing in a new Channel 4 reality show.

Let’s hope it was love at first sight!

The newlyweds are among a number of couples who are taking part in Married At First Sight, which airs later this summer.

Emma, 32, married James, 33, in London on February 21 and their marriage was officially logged at Westminster register office.

The couple then jetted off on honeymoon, where they were followed by cameras of course.

Emma and James and the other pairings were then followed for six weeks, before being asked to decide whether they’d like to stay together or separate.

All of the couples were matched by panel which included a psychologist, a vicar and a geneticist.

The show is based on a concept which has been a big hit in the US and Denmark, with participants meeting each other for the first time at their ‘wedding’.

Filming was reportedly delayed for a while as Channel 4 struggled to find participants willing to marry a complete stranger.

Apparently many hopefuls changed their minds, but it seems that Emma and James followed through and became husband and wife.

But are they still married?

The pair apparently refused to comment when asked about their relationship by the newspaper, so we guess we’ll have to tune in to the show to find out.

Check out a trailer for the US version of the show here:

Do you think marriages like this can truly work out?

I would say the odds are not good for long term but you never can tell.

So it's a TV show about couples who got married immediately after meeting each other for the first time in their lives. Well, I suppose any marriage can either work or fail, regardless of the circumstances that led to it. It's all about tolerance and compromise. :)

Hmm. Kinda Odd in my opinion, i don't think many people who do this would last very long together.

Divorce rate is 47% exactly because of dumbassery like that. I wish there was an update on them.

Even though I literally was criticizing them for this exact thing, it's still sad to see it actually did happen T_T. Thanks for sharing.
From that article, it looks like the "show" is still in existence. - - Unbelievable!

Show seems like quite the hot mess but have heard of it before. I do not generally watch these sort of shows, but sometimes they're amusing to watch. I am sure it's all scripted/fake, but still entertainment to me.

Because of reality tv shows? Its because people don't want to stick it out and work it out. When things get hard they just bail. Same with people in the work place. Nobody wants to work and when their job has some challenges, they quit.

Rare to see someone else with the same opinion on Rtv lmao. With the exception of shows like the above, I really like them a lot as well. Have you seen Big Brother perhaps?

Nope, the 47% is in general, not including any Eastern countries.

Very rare to see anyone not complain and bitch about liking or watching reality TV. I love reality TV type stuff and always will despite what people IRL on online say. No, never seen Big Brother but have been meaning to.

Yay we have that in common xD. I'll reply/continue this in your new thread.

I think more people watch it than you think. Its just the fad to bash on it. :P
