Low water levels in the river lead to a higher concentration of piranhas near the shore, which increases the risk of encounters. According to Argentinian outlet Minuto Uno, Officials had already posted warning signs in the area, designating parts of the river as prohibited for swimming. Officials say visitors entered the restricted areas of water, triggering the chaotic scene as lifeguards rushed to evacuate the beach following the attacks.
