What are some of your memories of Forum Advertiser?



One of my favorites happens to take place on one of the first days I joined up with that forum. Actually, it was a little bit after I joined up with that forum and started becoming active. I remember the guys did not have the Gender Mod installed yet, and I had gone under the username Brian Fan, as my favorite Backstreet Boy was Brian Littrell, hence the username. In my Interview thread when I first joined up, people kept asking me questions like, are you a boy or a girl? and finally, when I told them about my username, it was, okay, so who's Brian? One of the members must have done a Google search on the Boys, because it wasn't long before she came back with a couple of pictures of the Backstreet Boys, and one solo shot of Brian. It was pretty hilarious to say the least. So to clear the confusion up, I requested a username change in the username change request thread, but by the time I could do that, the gender mod had already been installed! I was thinking, what the heck? All that explaining and username change for nothing? But I was pleased when we finally figured everything out.



I could go on and on about FA, but that was one of my favorite memories. What are some of your guys' favorites?

I remember the day I opened the forum back in 2007 on freeforums.org. It ran off phpbb2 and had a black and orange skin. No members at all and I had no idea what i was doing.

I remember when T wanted me to join his New forum (FA) - so I did.

I was the ONLY Member

I wondered if anybody else was going to join!

I knew he had it in him to run a Great forum and Soon there were many, many more members as you all know!

I remember when I joined FA--way back when it had a black and orange skin.

A couple weeks later was asked to be a mod, and the rest, as they say, is history......

I remember when someone got control of my account and deleted the forum.

I remember starting off on the wrong path, but straightened out to the point where at last I was given another chance to become apart of FA staff. I rejoined the review team and was off and on due to school, but eventually I missed a feeling of belonging, and couldn't resist to go back once more and ask Princess for my job back. Being the nice Princess she is, Princess openly handed me my rank back and I picked up on the reviews again. I stayed around this time, because I managed school and still had extra time at the end of the day. To be honest, if I had never stumbled over FA, I probably would have never learned some crucial maturity skills in keeping things on a professional level, and being a civil person overall. When the day was over, I had been on the review team for a while, and I had some extra time and decided to go chat some. I lingered over a topic that needed to be deleted, and that is when I trashed it and noticed a topic about me, one that motivated me to prove everyone wrong. I remained on the review team as long as I could, until I logged on and noticed my name was in orange. Of course, I enjoyed being a reviewer, but reviews are much time consuming, and it would be a lateral-reassignment that gave me more freedom and slack to get involved in the community. The since of belonging, the family, the bondage we had on FA was amazing. FA was my internet family.



Point proven, with motivation, dedication, and hardwork, I was able to go from a troublesome user to a moderator. It taught me a lot, because before I was power-hungry, which lead to my fault on another board. Then, after becoming a moderator, proving everyone who doubted me wrong, I felt the power-hungry, old me vanish. FA has helped me in so many ways, yes, little ways, but it is proof that if you put your mind to it, you can do it.



After I had accomplished becoming a moderator, I had no urge to strive to outdo myself to get a new rank color. I began to connect with others, and in the last few weeks, I had built a real good relationship with Nebulous. I recall some good times with him on MSN, we really had a good time discussing some of the most random topics. He is a cool, laid-back guy that I looked up to, because he had accomplished so much and is another proven example of the saying, if you put your mind to it, you can do it. It has taught me a lot, and I have had some great experiences with the members and other staff. If I had to redo it all, I would not change a bit of it.



Nebulous, you're a great father and you seem to be real modest, and that is why you inspire me.

Oh yeah.....that was quite a day. I remember calling Nebulous in near hysterics because the forum was being deleted and I couldn't stop the guy doing it......

It's funnier now than it was then......





Another thing I remember was breaking that 'glass ceiling' and becoming the first female Admin at FA.

One thing I remember is trying to snag the reviews before Jay (Jughead up there...). Jeez...I don't think I did any reviews in the month of June.

I also remember being on the package team for, like, 2 days and then we stopped doing packages.

And then, like, 2 weeks later, I became a reviewer.

Oh! I remember having that day...about Montrose, I think?? Forgot what it's called, though...

Anyone remember?

i remember being a weird member until the point where i was promoted to elite, then got reverted back to normal member for reasons unbeknownst to me. after that, FA closed after i left it for 3 months.

I remember all the people on Forum Promotion thinking I did it because the offline message made by the cracker was signed with my username.

I remember in the early days, we hired on a crazy moderator named Killer Kirk who liked to harass people with his power and chase people away from the forum, never to return. He ended up getting fired.



.........He wasnt like that when he was a regular member. Go figure.

I remember when a certain banned member used to join the forum pretending to be all these different people he wansnt (including pretending to be a girl, lol) and would eventually slip up and reveal himself.

LOL. I remember when a certain staff member first joined, he got banned several times, before he learned to behave (sort of)

I remember changing my name for a few days just for the heck of it.

I changed it back a few days later, too. Honestly, I kept on putting in my usual username instead of the one I changed it to.

Oh! I remember when Jay and I switched avatars and he made me a glittery one!
