I'm still laughingI tried to get menstrual leave once, the boss just laughed at me.![]()
Yes, absolutely. It can be debilitating for some women and it is not something we can control in particular
And then the feminist make bad noise about women getting paid less than the men.
This is very true. I've been dealt a shite card, but I've known women who can make it on medication and heating pads. It's different for everyone. We'd understand that more if the healthcare system actually cared more to research women's bodies and the various conditions we suffer from surrounding menstruation. I can't tell you guys how many times I've been discouraged from taking a more aggressive approach only to be countered with, "You're still young," and "You might change your mind when you get married." Blah blah blah. I've known since I was a teenager that I never wanted to have children. I'm pushing 40 and that's only been cemented as I age.My spouse gets terrible periods and we believe they may have Endometriosis. There's times where they can't get out of bed because their cramps are just too much. I think people who have menstrual cycles should be able to get menstrual leave and don't have to worry about losing their job. I don't think many people understand that different people get different symptoms and they can be unbearable at times.
Absolutely agreed with you on this. There should be sufficient sick leave provided to employees to cover occasions when they are too unwell to make it into work. It should be a given that menstruation leave should likewise be adequately covered for as part of this.Yes, but I think that the larger issue is that employers should be required to provide paid sick leave, and they should not be allowed to ask why you are taking that leave.
