Yes, 2 friends stayed with me and my parents for a week or so, seperate times, and I met 3 others at a book signing.

Damn you met a lot then.
lol! The 2 work at the bookstore and the 3rd was there to have a book signed.

Years before that another online friend was visiting her grandparents that lived in a state near me so she came here too.

The other was a friend from the UK, poor guy got taken to see old Philly! lol

Yeah, I met a boyfriend from the net. We're ex's now, but I am still his friend and we meet up each week.

I joined a forum for Muslims in Sydney, and they all met each other.
I've been to their weddings, houses and I live 900km away.

So I'd have met 40+

And others from other sites.

Hell, given the chance I'd meet most of you all.

I met all my housemates through the Internet (there are 5 of us including me). 3 are former Dashing members - one of which moved here from South Australia - and the other owned a Minecraft server I used to play on.

I'd met all them in person prior though, mainly through local gaming conventions and other shenanigans.

I also know a bunch of other people from the local Pokémon / Nintendo community at conventions and tournaments, these people mainly being from Facebook groups and the Another Castle (formally Aussie Nintendo) forum.

I couldn't give an accurate number but it's probably around 30-50 people or so

I have.  Never met anyone from a forum though.
Where were they from? Facebook? Dating site?

Yeah stuff like that.

Also when I order a pizza online, the pizza guy shows up. I suppose that counts.

I have never met up with anyone from the internet, but would if there was a pretty good on line friendship going on.

I have, since two weeks ago. It was okay actually although it felt strange seeing that person face-to-face for the first time. The person I met was someone I spoke to for a few good months from a social networking site and we may plan to meet each other more times.

Mind you, I'm fed up with some people, especially my mum, talking a lot of baloney of the whole thing. As long as you've met the person from a legitimate source and not some seedy chatroom, you'll be fine.

yes i have
several times actually
not always a succes though

i might meet up with others i know off the internet in the future
it all depends if they are gonna stick around and they worth it

Let's be honest - meeting someone on a train, through a school, through friends...What's the digfference with meeting someone online? People are people? Seedy or good people can come from either method.
