lol at you

Killswitch Engage

Disturbed

Avenged Sevenfold

System of a Down

Killswitch Engage is the biggest pile of shit I have ever heard. Sorry.

Depends if you like more the 21st century metal, or more 'classic' metal. I mostly listen to the latter, it's less screaming, less noise, more MUSIC.

Metallica

Iron Maiden

Megadeth

Led Zeppelin (they may not seem very metal-y but without them, you would have no metal.)

Deep Purple (also thanks to them.)

Black Sabbath (and them too.)

Judas Priest

Slayer

Pantera

Opeth

System of a Down / Serj Tankian

Slipknot

Godsmack

For the good of your soul: I second the Pink Floyd suggestion.

If you prefer crappier (in my opinion) stuff, then bands like Atreyu, Bullet for my Valentine, Behind Crimson Eyes, Underoath, Bring me to the Horizon may be worth a listen...yeah I'm mixing genres here, I give up.

Good list there, mate, nice mix of obscure and a bit more well-known (also, will check out the names I didn't know).
