Michelle Obama's missing scarf at the meeting with King Salman in Saudi Arabia, where women are required to cover their hair, has provoked hot debate on social media. Many view the first lady's decision not to wear a scarf as a political statement.

The question I have is why do they think they can force their religious laws upon a foreigner who is nether a resident of the country nor a follower of their faith? It says a lot of them and their laws where a ordinary person visiting the country would not be allowed to get away with what Michelle Obama did so I suppose their laws only matter when the rule breaker isn't special. :P

that's true, but it's their country and their laws, even if they are stupid...

the only reason why they couldn't do anything about it this time is because of their positions and power of nuking them if they had an issue of any sorts... regular people don't have that power so they are subjected to their foolish laws and rules...

I have no idea why she did it to make a statement or just because she wanted to but am glad it smacked the face of the vile people who rule that god awful country.

"god awful country" because they have stupid laws?

who are you to tell other countries what laws they can and cannot have when america have it's laws of destroying people's freedoms and liberty? :|

They are not just stupid laws. They are laws that make women lower then a pet dog just to name one of thousands of laws. So yes.

Yes they do but not all countries stupid laws are equal.

Pretty easily since as I said not all stupid laws are equal. But you let me know when America takes millions of women and puts them into slavery.

And for her second act Michelle Obama will DRIVE A CAR!

(from a tweet in the article)

Where Michelle I think would have been wrong in this is if when entering the Kings home, palace whatever you call it this was tradition. BUT outside of the palace the people have the free right to wear any clothing of there choosing without fear of arrest. So I do not think Michelle did for any kind of morale reason, I think she did it because she simply wanted to wear what she wanted to and no one is going to tell her otherwise. Either way I am glad she did to a load of disgusting individuals.

but in that country they don't have the free right to wear any clothing of their choosing, it's like that in all countries, including america... here in america, people get thrown in jail all the time due to what they wear or lack thereof...

It is not even remotely the same thing. Besides going naked people are free to wear what they want and do not need to worry about getting stoned to death for running around naked.
