Should it be higher or lower in your area?

Should it even exist? Why or why not?

I definitely think it should exist, as it stops people being taken advantage of and working for crap money.

As for how much it is where I am....well some people moan about it, as people always will, but it's better than being on unemployment benefits.

It should.. People who are desperate for a job should not work for pennies.

In California its $8 an hour which seems fair. It was around $5 when I was working minimum wage jobs (as a teenager). Compared to other states it seems like too much but the cost of living here is outrageous.

Minimum wage where I live is $9.50, but we pay 13% tax when we buy things.IDK if they lowered the tax.from 13%.There should be a minimum wage or else people would be making pennies every hour.

Minimum wage here is $8.80, and reviewed every April. It is essential, to ensure workers are getting some compensation for their work. I just see if there was none, there would be many workers, such as teenagers and immigrants, taken advantage of.

I don't know what it is now but when I worked at WHSmiths (year and a half ago) it was £5.15. I get more than minimum wage now.

I definatly think it should be in place.

Minimum wage is $12.50 here in NZ (someone correct me if I'm wrong). It's seems fair to me.
