Yes you read it right! We have added some brand spanking new features to Off Topix!
I will write up a couple detailed informational threads about some features in the near future, for now I will briefly discuss each added feature with you.
We have a new feature installed here on Off Topix - Live Topics!
LIVE TOPICS
There's now no longer any need to refresh hot, popular topics, just as Chit Chat Zone or any other topic with a post made in the last 10 minutes.
If a thread has been posted within the last 10 minutes then its now considered to be Live. If other users are viewing the Live topic and are on the last page they will experience a clean ajax experience while talking to other members. This means the new posts made by other members will instantly appear like usual but without the need to refresh the page.
Once the thread is older than 10 minutes its no longer Live and it will now act like a normal thread. Also if a user edits one of their posts that's inside of the thread, it will be updated too so there is no longer a reason to ever have to refresh. Live topics can be identified by the
icon found next to the topic titles in the forums.

DEFAULT USER TEXT FONT STYLING
This allows users to chose their own font to be displayed automatically every time they post. To chose your font go to the UserCP and choose Edit Options. Scroll down to the bottom of that page and set your font in the Default Text Formatting Settings box.

COUNTDOWNS & COUNT UPS
This allows users to set up their very own countdown timer or countup timer. The timer runs in real time and is displayed at the bottom of your signature.
To start your own counter go to your user cp and find Edit Countdown/Countup at the very bottom of the left hand menu.
(to turn your counter on/off, use the Active dropdown menu on that screen)
DEFAULT AVATAR
Pretty simple addon.. People who do not have an avatar will automatically be given a general avatar.
AUTO IMAGE RESIZER
This was added due to popular demand. Many of us like to post images but sometimes those images are WAY too big and stretch the page. Well that is now a problem of our past. All large images will be resized to a reasonable size that will not stretch the page. Click the bar at the top of a resized image to see the full sized version.
WHO HAS READ THIS THREAD
This is a fun addon I thought people might enjoy. You will now be able to see who exactly has read each thread. This list is located at the very bottom of each thread. Just under the quick reply box.
PM ENHANCEMENTS
This enhances your Private Messages system:
-PM Menu in NavBar PM stats (click the
arrow for a new drop down menu)
-Advanced unread PM(s) notification (blinking notifications)
-Option to completely disable Signatures in PMs
-Reply To All option in messages which was sent to multiple recipients
TODAY'S TOP POSTERS
This displays the the top eight posters over the last 24 hours. Want your name up in lights? If you are posted a lot today, chances are you will be featured right on our index page in the Who Is Online / Statistics box.

AWARDS
This is an exciting new feature we have added! I'm sure the community will have great fun with this! I had a similar mod on an older forum and I had a few creative award ideas I plan to implement here. Basically we will award members here with special badges that appear under a person's avatar, post count, etc.. and in the profile pages.
