Molly Meldrum fighting for life

Ian Molly’ Meldrum remains in a coma, and is in a critical but stable condition at The Alfred Hospital after falling from the roof of a poolside gazebo at his Richmond home yesterday evening.​

His brother, Brian, said Molly would be in danger for the next 48 hours.​

In a statement to the media outside The Alfred hospital this afternoon, he said he expected his brother's condition would worsen before it improved.​

He's under sedation and he’ll remain that way probably until early next week, Brian said.​

Meldrum suffered fractures to his skull, ribs, shoulder and vertebrae and a punctured lung in the fall, which happened about 6.40pm yesterday.​

Although no one saw the incident, it is believed that Meldrum was attempting to decorate the spa area, above his outdoor bar, before a Christmas party he had planned for Sunday. He had been due to fly to Thailand next week.​

I was fairly shocked when I heard he was critical.

I do hope he';ll be okay. While it's reassuring that he stayed stable all of last night, it's not so reassuring they're still using the term 'fighting for his life'.
