Have you even tried to moo? Most likely, you haven’t, but there are a lot of people who like to do it and they participate at mooing contests. Though at first sight this activity seems very simple, you should have special skills to moo in a proper manner.

The amusing mooing contest is performed every year at Wisconsin State Fair and is called Moo-la-palooza. There are dozens of candidates and the only one worth will get numerous prizes. No matter how old you are (just over 5 years old), as any person can participate in the mooing contest. Last year, a young boy, Austin Siok won Moo-la-palooza, though he is just 10 years old. He practiced a lot since kindergarten and mooed everywhere.

Since 2008, the Cousins Subs Moo Tour was launched to choose the best and most talented moo-ing experts. Every contestant has two chances to moo and there are about 80 candidates, so the event takes about three hours. The beginning is at 12 p.m. The registration is absolutely free and you also get a T-shirt and other prizes. Every participant will be judged on three criteria: realism, style and originality. They prepare their costumes and presentation thoroughly, because they can get extra points in the last criterion. All moo-ers are evaluated by four-person judging panel, including the previous winner.

People wonder why there are so many contestants and spectators to join this competition. First of all this activity is incredibly fun. Also you can show your talent (yes, you should be talented in mooing to participate) and share your hobby with other dedicated individuals. Nobody will think you are sick or mad, when you begin your repetition before the contest. Moo-la-palooza is a great opportunity uniting different people.

Of course, another attractive reason to participate is a way to gain different prizes. This is a very pleasant aspect of the competition. This year, 10 August, Brandon Rogers won the coveted cow-printed jacket and the golden cowbell trophy. Also the young expert in mooing will eat free burgers at Cousins Subs that is a sponsor of the contest. And last but not least he won 1000 bucks, while he got the title of the best moo-er in the world. Brandon beat out nearly 80 other participants and won the contest in the final round with two other moo-ing finalists.

Moo-la-palooza is a traditional part of Wisconsin State Fair since 2005 as well cream puffs, blue-ribbon livestock and food on a stick. Every summer contestants from all over the Dairy State try to impress the judges, shouting their best “Mooooooooo!” Don’t lose your chance, because anyone can become a winner.

How udderly hilarious! They can churn out some good competitions, can't they? And there are good prizes to be creamed off!

I need to moo-ve over there and join in! Or is that milking it? Bit too cheesy maybe? Cud be!

I didn't think you could fit that many puns in just two lines...
