What are your most memorable movie theater experiences? Whether it be the crowd, the movie itself, etc. What made it so special? I'm sure @Nebulous must have some, he's there every day!

Here's a couple of mine:

1.) Midnight release for The Dark Knight Rises. Triple feature, started at like 8 with Batman Begins, then the Dark Knight, and then TDKR at midnight. Super fun way to see the movies even though I got stuck in the corner of the front row and it was painful. Anyways, I had to go to the bathroom shortly after the new movie started. I was washing my hands and somebody else (I'd never met) was also there washing his hands at the same time. Almost as if we'd rehearsed it, we made eye contact and he just said, "Man, I wonder what we're missing" and as if on queue we both ran out of the bathroom and literally ran back to the theater so we wouldn't miss anything good.

2.) Another Batman story, I was seeing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in an empty theater with just one other group of two people besides my party. It was an older guy and his daughter I'm assuming or caretaker or something. Anyways when Batman first shows up, there's a jump scare-ish where the camera turns around and Batfleck is on the corner of the ceiling and this poor old guy got so scared and jumped and the two of them immediately left and never came back. I felt bad thinking he must have been expecting some Adam West type Batman and that definitely wasn't what he got!

Lol

Going to the movies a lot makes my visits there unmemorable. They all kind of blend together.

Usually what stands out in my memory is negative experiences. For example I was there the other day and the guy next to me STUNK really bad like B.O. and he was breathing loudly. It was so distracting that I got up and moved to another seat that happened to be empty.

Another one was when a couple brought their small child to the theater and the kid was running up and down the aisles, creating a huge distraction and the kids parents did nothing about it.

I went to see the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe (the narnia movie)

halfway through, the fire alarm went and we all had to go outside in to the rain

the reason for the alarm?

overheated popcorn machine. we never saw the end of the film though

another time, when I went to see godzilla, there was a huge pause after the trailers

then the following anouncement:

we regret to inform viewers that godzilla won't be shown after all. we don't have the film

so we all went home

Did you get a refund?

I thought of another one where a theater employee completely trolled me and my brother! When I was around 12-13 or so, I came out of one of the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels and while waiting for our mom to come out of the bathroom, we were sitting on one of the benches complaining about the movie and how it ended (hey, look at me complaining about Johnny Depp before I even hated him  ) and this employee just decided to troll us for some reason. He picked up his walkie talkie and pretended to tell on us to someone, I remember him saying, "Yeah it's these two kids here, they're complaining about the movie. One of them has a Good Charlotte t-shirt on and the other is wearing this. They're sitting right here." Me and my brother were so confused and he succeeded and made us freak out thinking we were gonna get in trouble for complaining about the movie or something

i fell asleep LOL! hahha

for some reason when i go to movie theatres i always fall asleep and miss the whole thing hahahah

The last one I can think of is pretty recent, my first showing of Scream 6 on premiere night. In line for some snacks and some guy in front of me had a Ghostface mask. He wasn't wearing it but it was on his shoulder. Almost immediately an employee started yelling at him that masks weren't allowed and he had to take it back to his car. He started arguing back that he wasn't wearing it and 'you're really gonna make me bring it all the way back out there?? can i just give it to you guys to hold until the movie is over?' 'sir, bring it to your car immediately or we will issue you a refund and make you leave'. Finally he walked out to bring his mask to the car, and passive aggressively yelled, 'ABOLISH MOVIE THEATER MANAGERS' Then the people he was seeing the movie with started laughing at him, calling him a dumbass for thinking he could get away with it.

They also had an armed security guy that night so I guess it was a safety thing.

I try to fight not falling asleep all the time. Especially when I go to the movies after work.
