Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. Almost all techniques in Muay Thai use the entire body movement, rotating the hip with each kick, punch, elbow and block.

Any of you into Muay Thai?

No, but I am into Pad Thai.

Ingredients
Original recipe makes 6 servings
1 (12 ounce) package rice noodles

2 tablespoons butter

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/4 cup vegetable oil

4 eggs

1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

2 tablespoons fish sauce 3 tablespoons white sugar

1/8 tablespoon crushed red pepper

2 cups bean sprouts

1/4 cup crushed peanuts

3 green onions, chopped

1 lemon, cut into wedges

Directions

Soak rice noodles in cold water 30 to 50 minutes, or until soft. Drain, and set aside.
Heat butter in a wok or large heavy skillet. Saute chicken until browned. Remove, and set aside. Heat oil in wok over medium-high heat. Crack eggs into hot oil, and cook until firm. Stir in chicken, and cook for 5 minutes. Add softened noodles, and vinegar, fish sauce, sugar and red pepper. Adjust seasonings to taste. Mix while cooking, until noodles are tender. Add bean sprouts, and mix for 3 minutes.

Would appreciate it if we could stay on topic.

Thank you!

They're both Thai.

One gives you bruises and a possible concussion, the other, if made properly, heartburn.

But, OK.

There was an episode of No Reservations where they went to Thailand with an American fighter who proceeded to get the snot beat out of him. (I'll see if I can find that and post a link to it)

When I visited Thailand in February Muay Thai was something I wanted to see but didn't get he chance. That is one thing I will be seeing if I ever do return to the country.
