Please post a list of the books other Off Topix members have to read, because they're so good! What do you recommend?

I wouldn't want to force anyone to read anything... school did enough of that to me and I didn't enjoy it much.

Still, I think the Discworld series is worth reading... to name 40ish books.

Are those your books Doc?

The Hunger Games trilogy! The books are amazing. The Wednesday Letters is a pretty good and quick read, too.

Metro 2033 great sf book.

If you liked post apocalyptic world, you will love it!

A list of favorites more like...

The Tolkien Legendarium, of course. The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik because what if dragons? Eifelheim by Michael Flynn as a unique take on first contact with aliens. Everything by Alastair Reynolds, especially the Revelation Space books. Noise and Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei because if they were western novels they'd have one a Hugo.

Also, everything by Poe, and Bierce. Also Flatland.

The Herion Diaries by Nikki Sixx

It's a real eye opener and if you've had a bad life so far you can really relate to his writings, or I did anyway..... minus the drugs.
