I need to write about my closest friend today....Many of you know Him.... And many of you follow.....And of course many of you don't.....That's okay though....He's still around....He'll never leave.....

My friend has this light.....Light that shines so very bright, for all to see...

In Psalm 119:150:  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path...

My friend is powerful...Some people think He's not....I mean, what person would really want to "turn the other cheek"?

Matthew 5:39: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek turn to him the other also.

He is powerful though....Matthew 28:18:  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

He will remain strong, giving us strength.  No, no where in the Bible does it says He is strong, but....There are verses that will speak out to you... Speak out to me....We run to Him for safety, and then His strength will flow through....

Proverbs 18:10:  The name of the Lord is a strong tower.  The righteous men run into it and they are safe.

Philippians 4:13:  I can do all things through Christ which Strengthens me.

Isaiah 40:31:  But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.

His strength is sufficient for us....For when we are weak, He is strong...

2 Corinthians 12:9:  "My strength is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

I'm sure thankful for my friend....Who I claim as my Brother....As my all....In all.....

That is why in Christ Jesus I delight in weakness, hardships, insults, persecutions, and difficulties....Because when I am weak...I am made strong, through Him....

Compared to Him, I am nothing....Without Him...I am nothing....I do not kid myself....I am not perfect....I will never be perfect....I have no strength without Him....I have no breath, nor air without Him.....And yet...

Through Him I have it all.....I am made something....I have breath, and air.....I have strength.....

My friend....Is the best friend ever!

My friend Jesus Christ.....

Yeah, the font sizes have all been messed up since the hack, I've tried to reset mine about four times and gave up. And if I try to enlarge the text in the browser it magnifies the entire page so I have to scroll back and forth to read it because of the way the page is put together.

I guess this is progress.

But, anyway....

I can turn this into a debate really quickly if you all want! :P

Hey Ellie - where in the Bible did Jesus claim to be anything more than a servant of God? A messenger of God? A prophet of God if you will?
[Hint; it's nowhere. :) ]

Wow. What is this debate supposed to be about?  And what language is it written in?  It looks like some weird sort of Martian hieroglyphics and I can't make heads or tails out of it.

May as well have been written in Swahili.

It's showing here too?!! I copied and pasted it from my original post on another site....I guess I'll need to re-write, or just delete it....

Oh! You were able to make it out....

I'm just talking about my personal relationship with Him.....I'm not going to tell you that you are wrong....Because....You are right, no where does it say He's a personal friend.....

It's just how it is with me, and I suppose others, I don't know for sure....I've been a Christian for 44 years, and well, this is how it has become.....

I really don't expect anyone to agree with me on this......After all we each have different beliefs....NO ONE believes exactly the same way.... :)

I think it should be pointed out to the OP that preaching is not debating.

Or try to force or push religion on others....

One...I'm sorry if you thought it was preaching, it's not....I'm just talking about my own personal relationship with Him....

And two, talking about my feelings for Jesus, is not forcing my beliefs on you or anyone else....I'm just talking about my own personal relationship....

You will see more of it....After all, when I first came here, I let it be known, that most of my writings would be about Jesus....Besides other things.....

And finally, you know you really don't have to read what I write....Reading it is your choice.....

Excuse me, sir, would you care to restate that question?

Or did you miss John 10 : 20 or a little later in the same book in ch 14?

in the bible, jesus claimed that he was the son of god in human form...

but, ain't there other debate threads about this?

this thread should be in the life section as the op is just expressing her views and personal experiences...

preach
verb
deliver a sermon or religious address to an assembled group of people, typically in church.
"he preached to a large congregation"
synonyms: give a sermon, deliver a sermon, sermonize, spread the gospel, evangelize, address, speak;
publicly proclaim or teach (a religious message or belief).
"he preached the word of God"
synonyms: proclaim, teach, spread, propagate, expound, explain, make known
"a church that preaches the good news"
earnestly advocate (a belief or course of action).
"my parents have always preached toleration and moderation"
synonyms: advocate, recommend, advise, urge, exhort, teach, counsel, champion, inculcate, instil
"my parents have always preached toleration"

You can try to rationalize it however you want, but it falls under the concept of preaching. Though my complaint was more with the location of the post (and the REALLY REALLY BAD FONT it's written in) rather than its content. It was posted in the debate section, but it has no real debating worth, which is why I said what I said.

she was more expressing her views and experiences there not preaching or trying to force her views upon others...

Actually, it's my doing....I decided to use a different font, on the site that I wrote it on, which is called Symbol....Won't be using it again....Though it's plainly written from my view, when others read it, it appears to be written in Greek....Sorry.....

Or did you miss John 10 : 20 or a little later in the same book in ch 14?

From the King James Version of the Bible:

19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

 Um. And this is Jesus laying claim to be divine and part of a trinitarian God?
Riiiight...Am I weird in simply not seeing how at all?

Now for chapter 14, I suppose this is what you're referring to:
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that.

LeftOver, I'm not sure if you read my post properly. I was looking for evidence in the Bible of Jesus (peace be upon him) being part of a Trinitarian God - not evidence to the contrary. This above verse is clearly alluding to Jesus (peace be upon him) and God (the one God) being seperate.

'Believe in God - also believe in me.' This is not linking the two into the same entity, if anything it's confirming they are in fact, not.

There are umpteen more examples where Jesus (peace be upon him) is quoted as saying things against the concept of the trinity (which, by the way, came about long after his time) in the Bible.
Though, even with these verses I 'missed' still nothing where a trinitarian concept is actually stated - and if it were so, and the most vital point of belief, I'm pretty sure it'd be present.

Okay....General Discussion....Any particular place?  I'll be deleting this, as soon as I know where I can write, in General Discussion....

no need to delete, you didn't do anything wrong, just didn't want people to try to debate you/what you said when that wasn't your intentions, so this thread is now in the Life section... (;
