A woman claims that she got costly revenge on her neighbours after they selfishly parked nine of their cars down a small residential street. The woman took matters into her own hands after the motorists parked two of their vehicles directly outside of her home for an extended period despite having an empty driveway.

Taking to popular forum Reddit, the anonymous woman explained how her revenge left the neighbours £90,000 out of pocket. She raged: "My neighbours have nine cars total parked in the street. They always park two of those cars in front of my house and won't move them the whole week."

Cars on road

She went on: "We have a regulation where we live that you can't leave your car parked for more than 48 hrs in the same spot.

"My neighbors have a pretty big driveway where they can fit four cars, but it's always empty. They have told me they don't like to leave their driveway with cars because it looks tacky.

"Over half the cars they have they don't even use them. They just use them to safe parking spots for themselves.

"In 2021 I noticed they were building a second unit at the back of their main house. I noticed that they completed the house in under a month. This raised some red flags because it takes anywhere from 2-3 months with city inspections taking the majority of the time.

"I submitted a ticket with my city through the app and advised them that there might be some illegal residential building without permit. I didn't think of it much until a year later.

"I noticed my neighbours tearing down their second unit last week. Word got around our block that a city inspector was there making sure everything was being torn down.

Thoughts?

I didn't know that cars in a driveway could look tacky...I thought that's what driveways were for...
Thats what I was thinking. Even if they parked 4 of their 9 cars in the driveway, there would still be 5 on the street taking up other people's parking spots. They have too many cars! Instead of building a unit in their backyard they should pave it over and make a parking lot back there. Put all the cars back there instead.

Agreed, especially if there are cars they "don't even use." How does that work?!

Lived next to several people who have a ton of cars. Its sooooo annoying. I don't get it. Around here there is a 72 hour rule for parking your cars on the street. I never been shy to call the city and report all the cars that haven't been moved in 3 days. Thankfully where I live now everyone has just 1 or 2 cars per household (which is the way it should be).

About 15 minutes from where I live there's an extremely rich neighborhood, one house I drive by quite a lot on my way out has a C8, a brand new Z06, a Dodge Demon, a Sierra Denali, a brand new Escalade and a Hellcat Charger. I've only seen one person living there...one. Boggles the mind.

Yeah, exactly! I have my Nissan Rogue Sport and I do own a 1993 Suburban, but it's one I can't drive because I'd go bankrupt if I touched the accelerator, so it's in storage out of the way, needs work as well. Don't need anything else, don't want anything else.

Why are you storing a 30 year old car? Just sell it to the local car picker yard for a couple hundred dollars :P

Because it's paid off and if I'm ever in a position where I can't afford my Rogue...a distinct possibility...at least I have something. Likewise, if I lose my home...

Yeah but old cars like that are just money pits. Everything needs to be repaired all the time, will end up costing more than the newer car in the end.

She's got a point...
