LOS ANGELES -Singer Nate Dogg has died at age 41. His near monotone crooning anchored some of rap's most seminal songs and helped define the sound of West coast hip-hop.

Attorney Mark Geragos says the artist died Tuesday of complications from multiple strokes. Nate Dogg's real name was Nathaniel D. Hale.

He wasn't a rapper, but he was an integral figure in the genre. His voice was featured on hits including Warren G's Regulate, 50 Cent's 21 Questions, Dr. Dre's The Next Episode and countless others.

Man so its really true? I remember seeing this talked about on Facebook the other night. I wasn't all that familiar with the guy, aside from when he was on the Gangsta Nation song with Westside Connection. But it does suck!

Yeah, he died due to complications from several strokes he's had over the past several years.

Sad to see the man go, he really was the king of hooks.

R.I.P Nate Dogg

Wow, darn strokes! I had heard something about a blunt being involved too the other night. And here's a song/video I really like that features him.

Warning: Some language.

I had never heard of him until now. Seems like he had a rough hand of cards in terms of his health.
