...no, Mr. Scarborough, Ebola's merely a deadly disease. You and your fellow conservatives, though...now there's "a fire from hell".
The denial of reality was in full swing, mid-show on today's Meet the Press. Nebulous Scarborough doesn't trust this administration, while Andrea Mitchell was irate that the CDC and the NIH promised us there'd be no Ebola cases in the U.S., and what happens? Ebola walks right into a Dallas hospital! Fortunately, David Axelrod and Gwen Ifill were there to add some reason and sanity to this discussion.

This poor Ebola patient in Dallas might not have been sent home, after telling the nurse he just came from Liberia, if things in Texas were different. Mitchell conveniently left out the crises happening in every red state whose Republican governors have rejected the Medicaid expansion. Far more people die from lack of healthcare than will die in this country from the Ebola Virus.

The patient makes national news, and his mere existence has frightened Nebulous Scarborough to no end. Why? Because, GOP talking points. He says, "look at the laundry list, look what happened with the VA, look what happened with the Secret Service, look what happened with the IRS, look what happened with ISIS being a JV team, Americans don't believe the government...This IS A CRISIS... the W.H.O. has been dismal, they've ignored all the warning signs."

Thankfully Gwen Ifill interjected and reminded everyone that there's been ONE case of Ebola. She asked, "One case is a tipping point?"

Scarborough knows better, because he's heard from Dr. Ken Brantley, who had the disease. Brantley thanked Jesus above all for saving his life from Ebola, and he is the ideal person to proclaim an emergency. Nebulous quotes Brantley, "This is a fire from hell and if you the Atlantic Ocean will stop it from over coming here, you've got another thing coming."

Axelrod, with the zinger of the segment says, "I don't want to disagree with Doctor Scarborough, but..." which created a flurry of controversy amongst the panel.
President Obama's former top advisor tried to silence the hysteria by listing all the top medical doctors who have no political stake in telling people that we have this under control if we weren't able to contain Ebola.

Scarborough couldn't contain his outrage and looked very uncomfortable. Chuck tried to get things under control, but could hardly overcome the strong will of both Axelrod and Scarborough. Nebulous pleaded, This is a serious issue, I'm quoting people who have had Ebola (1 person). We have to ask tough questions,"
no matter how baseless and ridiculous they are. We have to spread misinformation, it's the Republican way. If I had to declare a winner, it would be Axelrod, hands down.Crooks & Liars)

Although there is something to be said for "not trusting the administration".

Do you?

So what's your suggestion for dealing with it?
Seal off the borders...ban all travel from West Africa...maybe employ witch doctors, perhaps? Or...how 'bout, for once, we actually trust the experts, Doc? How 'bout that idea?:@

I believe I was mocking Doc there, Justice... *looks over towards Justice w/a stern countenance* ...but now that our resident conspiratorialist has spoken, what are your ideas for dealing with Ebola?

i'm no more of a "conspirator" or a "conspiracy theorist" than any one else that enjoys the truth instead of rubbish...

what's a "conspiratorialist" any ways? is that just a made up word that just basically means a "conspirator"?

mocking the doc? nooo...

but to be fair you when you said, "Or...how 'bout, for once, we actually trust the experts, Doc? How 'bout that idea?" with an angry face tells me you were serious with your answer there...

and that's why i said what i said, because you suggested to trust the "experts" and our government yet we've been doing so and a lot of people think that they just suck and/or incompetent... but facts and evidence back up the claim too...

Um yeah, you picked out the one serious part of the post, and left out the sarcastic part and labelled the whole post serious.

Well done?

Fascinating.

The thread and it's assorted responses, and the topic itself.

Back to the experts.

We were told by the President that it was "Unlikely" that Ebola would come here.

Well, it appears that it is at least on the ground in Dallas, and there have been 'scares' in three other states and the District. And the more citizens that are brought back with it, the more likely it is that there will be a containment breach and that it will spread even further here.

Also, the airport screening that is in place has been rated as totally useless by epidemiologists from various organizations.

As for closing the borders. Good luck with that.

And it was the shaman in "Afrika" that led the attacks on the medical teams early in the outbreak because the witch doctors told the people the teams were spreading the disease. Most of that hysteria seemed to have died down when some of the traditional healers died as well. So that didn't work either.

Now, back to the more serious subject as to whether or not Justice is into conspiracies.

The surface evidence would suggest that he is closer to that topic than just a casual interest, but, as he has not mentioned the spacecraft and road that were photographed on the moon in 1968, he may have let his membership slip and his card expired.
