Question #9 on the this year's census asks about your race. One of the boxes you can choose is black, African American, or negro, all placed next to the same box: http://wcbstv.com/national/negro.census.form.2.1409469.html

Two questions:

1. Is the Census Bureau being insensitive?

2. Do you think the word Negro should be dropped from the Census form?

Words only have power if you give them power...

'sides there's no difference between 'Black' and 'Negro' other than the language being used, the first being English, the second being Latin (at least in terms of origin).

If people stopped being offended at every term the world'd be a lot nicer.

I filled out the Census yesterday. I didnt notice that word on there. I wasnt looking for it though...
