What is one product that has stood the test of time and (in your opinion) will never become obsolete? :|

But. Why Gold?

Other than it being pretty, and doing OK to fix your teeth, it is essentially useless. It won't hold an edge as a weapon, as a cooking implement it melts or bends at its first opportunity, and it weighs too much to make anything large out of because it'll be too hard to move without damaging it due to the softness of the metal.

It does OK as solder, but there are cheaper alternatives, and while you can say it won't corrode, there are other options that have a similar property without the cost. And, yes, you can beat it thin and "paint" with it, you can do the same with platinum but nobody writes poetry about platinum.

Yes, 'everybody' wants it, but why?

Electronics and other technology.

Why people used it before the advent of such things is beyond me. Aside from being shiny and malleable, it didn't have much use.

My hair clippers. I bought them about 30 years ago now & have never had to go for a haircut since. Just think of the amount of money it's saved me over the years.
