Off Topix: Embrace the Unexpected in Every Discussion

Off Topix is a well established general discussion forum that originally opened to the public way back in 2009! We provide a laid back atmosphere and our members are down to earth. We have a ton of content and fresh stuff is constantly being added. We cover all sorts of topics, so there's bound to be something inside to pique your interest. We welcome anyone and everyone to register & become a member of our awesome community.

New Forum Turn-Offs

Topics that I have no interest in and I also don't care for forums that just are dedicated to one theme. For instance, let's say I'm not into gardening so I wouldn't join a gardening forum. I also look at how many active members a forum has and if it's only a few then I move on.

One turn off is when the index page goes on forever. If they have a billion forums.

When you visit the place for the first time. Expecting to see quite a few areas and lots of activity. Only to find they've hidden everything until you become a member.

Subject material that I'm not interested in and a crappy/unoriginal skin.

If the forum has a sloppy advert thread, as in they put no time into it, that's usually how their forum will be reflected. Not always true, but most of the time it's the result. My philosophy is that if you're going to work really hard on a forum but post a half-asked advert thread, then you're either lazy or don't care, and I don't want to be apart of a community that won't spend time promoting their site correctly. (I'm referring to their first post, not bump posts)
