A new smartphone browser will block all adverts from your mobile – including videos, pop-ups and those unstoppable things that crawl across the screen.

The browser, developed by ad-blocking giant Adblock Plus is rumoured to be set for launch this week, on May 20.

The software will be for Android devices only, at least to begin with, according to Fav Browser.

AdBlock Plus works using filters which blacklist known ad domains, meaning that when a web page sends a request to an advertiser, it’s blocked from appearing.

If the same technology was built into web browsers, it could mean that web pages load more quickly, as they no longer need to send requests to advertising networks.

Awesome. It's may 20th right now so I'll go see if it's in Google play.

I'll try this. I use Adblock Plus on Opera on my PC and it runs great.

While I like getting ad revenue, I don't mind if people use Adblock, though once I put ads on my site, I will ask people to consider disabling it for my blog. :)

ABP doesn't seem to block all ads on PC anyway, so I doubt their mobile browser will manage it.
