New vs Established

Do you prefer to join new forums or established forums that have been around for a while?

I'd join a new forum, if i can see myself staying their for awhile, sometime's i like to join up to help get some activity up.

Established. That way i know my time spent on the forum won't be wasted if it closes down in a weeks time when the forum dies down.

Established. That way I can jump right on in and have fun.



I don't mind joining new forums if I know the admin. That way I can be sure that it's not going to be another crappy forum.

If its a promotion forum, I will join to shamelessly plug this place. New or not.

Some new (depending on niche) I'll join and post in to help it develop, but I like posting in established forums where there are lots of topics to post/discuss in.

Established. New only if I feel the administrator is genuinely dedicated and savvy with managing a community.
