What are your plans for New Years Eve?



Me: I will be working and it's the worst night of the whole year. As you can imagine all the people who think it's no big deal to drink and drive. Hospital and State Police have doubled the coverage to deal with all the accidents. Wish people would just stay safe by not drinking and driving but that's just not happening.

I shall be doing what I always do, nowt and probably go to bed before 12 am lol.

Jazzy, I hope you don't have too much ugliness to deal with that night. Does your state offer the free taxi rides, too?

Yes, our state offers free taxi rides. Problem is getting the drunks or someone sane enough to call for one. Each year I work New Years Eve (which has been 4 years now), the average fatality rate is eight. That's eight too many and the shame is there is nothing I can do to help them. It's an awful feeling and this is just so senseless. I also have to tell loved ones the person/persons didn't make it. I get screamed and yelled at that I could have done something. I have to hold my tongue as I cannot revive a dead person. I know the loved ones are just hurting real bad and need someone to take it out on. That person is me and, again, it's an awful feeling.

It'll just be a normal day for me, apart from staying up for the bells if I can.

Gonna have dinner with a few friends at my place, then we're going to see the fireworks and then we're going out. Not sure where yet, probably some pub.

Working new years eve till 7.15pm, then we're going to have dinner with my in laws. Then i am going to enjoy a few drinks then go down the road and watch the fireworks at midnight.

Probably won't be doing anything to great, spending the day with family and then going over to a friends house during the evening.

I didn't do anything this New Year's Eve, first time in several years honestly. Was a bit depressing, but then again, I don't really care.
