Sad day today for all New Zealanders... It was confirmed by police that 29 people are dead after a mining problem Friday. There was an explosion on Friday afternoon and it was reported they were still alive but there was no rescue allowed due to the gas. A third explosion - at 3.39pm - has occurred at the Pike River Coal mine on the West Coast where 29 miners have died.

Very sad news.

Wish the best for the families and friends of the miners. Way too many mine incidents lately, something has to be done to increase the safety of these mines for the miners.
