I'm perfectly calm, if you want me to stop being logical and be more sensitive that's a completely different thing.
If that's your definition of calm...

Nothing wrong with a heated debate but implying someone's incapable of reasoning is a bit harsh.

He's my kryptonite I swear. Yeah I was harsh, mostly its just a frustration of not being able to reach out to these people, it makes me feel inadequate, because I should be able to make these kind of people understand. I'm sorry Evil Eye.

's all right, you're only human after all. No need to feel inadequate about something that has been a source of conflict for thousands of years :\

Btw, I was wrong about the reasoning part, I think. I mean but how can someone just go around saying that Obama is a Muslim? How on earth could one arrive at such a conclusion if they have the ability to reason? It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Peer pressure? :/

Why is this such a big deal though? Government officials don't have to be religious and if they are they don't have to be Christians...

Dragon, Obama is Christian. (That is UN-DEBATABLE).

And I agree Evil Eye, I myself an atheist would have no problem with Obama being Muslim or what have you, but that simply isn't the case!

Motorists are already required to carry auto insurance in Texas, the new health care bill requires that every American carry health insurance, and now there's a new mandate in the works---dog insurance.

State Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon (D-San Antonio) has introduced a bill that would require any Texan who owns a male dog which weighs 20 pounds or more and is not neutered to have an insurance policy covering injuries or damage caused by that dog when it is off the leash or out of the dog's yard, 1200 WOAI's Michael Board reports.

Unrestrained un-neutered male dogs over 20 pounds have a higher tendency toward aggression, McClendon said.

No, I know perfectly well why. You don't have the ability to reason so then when faced with someone capable of using intellect you run and hide because contrary to your belief, your idiotic talking points are not facts.

awww, there there. More of the name-calling? Really?

I made myself clear to you when I first joined here that I don't play that.

It works out quite well for most European countries. I'd suggest trying to understand the system before condemning it. It seems to me that you're against health care out of some misplaced hate towards Obama (by all means, please correct me if I'm wrong).

Oh and once and for all, the democrats are in no way a socialist party. Spread the hate about them as much as you want, but at least use the right terms.

Cranos, we're not going to agree on this.

Socialism is the opposite of everything that freedom stands for, i.e., America. It's government (forced) control, the absence of choices and not what this great country was founded on, what separates us from other countries. The results of the mid-term elections showed us exactly how much America rejects socialism - what Barack Hussein and his ilk are trying to push on us. (Although I firmly believe his motives are quite different from say, Pelosi's.)

As for me hating democrats --> silly and another false statement - I love Zell Miller. Love him!

Well, you don't have feelings of inadequacy to deal with - so go for it.

Doc, I've read plenty of your posts and you're always in control of yourself.

This all depends on what you consider socialism.. I think the two main vantage points are from economic and social standpoints. The economic standpoint is probably the one you are referring to, because that definition means that the government owns the means of production (a.k.a no private firms). But the most common definition of socialism today is simply a society that provides a social safety net in areas such as healthcare, food & shelter, etc. Basically extending the existing philosophy employed with national security to other areas of society.

Anyway, I'd still like to see you explain how Obama is either socialist or Muslim.

Oh sorry, Obama hate then...

Just for the clarification, my main point wasn't about socialism, but about health care. All I'm saying is that it's a different system. You might not agree with the principles behind it, but saying it doesn't work is incorrect. And while health care is a step towards a socialist policy, the watered down version the US has hardly means anything. Obama's management in general isn't socialist at all.

The definition of socialism you gave can be used by any extreme form of politics, both extreme right and extreme left. When I look at my own life, I've got in fact more choices than I'd have had in the US. While I may not have the freedom to carry a gun around, I can go to university and pick whatever carrier I want. My parents aren't rich and my grades in high school weren't extraordinary, so in the US I'd have a lot less choices when it comes to my future. So you see, a left government isn't as evil and freedom limiting as you might think.

And to clarify the United States RESERVES a socialist healthcare system for the elderly and for military veterans because it is the better system

I try.

Sometimes I don't succeed. But I do try.

Also, I do know the combination of keys to press, and in what order, to go ... (to quote Johnny Storm from the original Fantastic 4)

You do realize I feel inadequate because there are people in the world like you that I can't successfully persuade to see reason?

And remember, he stands for the Democratic side of things....

Democrat urges unions to 'get a little bloody when necessary'

Sometimes it's necessary to get out on the streets and get a little bloody, a Massachusetts Democrat said Tuesday in reference to labor battles in Wisconsin.

Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Mass.) fired up a group of union members in Boston with a speech urging them to work down in the trenches to fend off limits to workers' rights like those proposed in Wisconsin.

I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going, Capuano said, according to the Statehouse News. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.
