NFL and Pride Night

Alright so this is about sports, not about political opinions. Can we keep this to actual NFL discussions?

I want opinions on why 11 NFL teams DID NOT issue a Pride Month statement this year.
Here:
Despite this, Obama and Biden are classified as being pro-gay marriage and Trump is often assailed as being against it. There can be no question 21 NFL teams are apparently in favor of it. And the other 11 are silent on the subject.

If Roger Goodell had a spine he'd tell them "Yes, you will have a Pride Night event or you will not get to potentially host a future Super Bowl."
And given how profitable the Super Bowl is....

Uhh, that's called blackmail lol. He legally can't do that even if he wanted to.

Tell that to Major League Baseball.

Georgia was set to pass election-law changes tightening voter rules and MLB told them if they did, they'd pull the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta.
Georgia passed it, MLB moved the event to Denver, Colorado.

The kicker? It backfired on MLB because Colorado's voter laws are stricter than the ones Georgia instituted.

That's something completely different, that was the state changing voter laws. You're suggesting Roger Goodell tell the teams themselves they're forced to have a pride night or forfeit the right to have their home city host a Super Bowl eventually. He legally can not tell the teams what they can or can't hold.

The NHL does this too, and this what they said about it: "Pride nights, like other themed events, are planned and staged by individual teams, not the NHL."

He legally can not tell the teams what they can or can't hold.
Legally you're right.
Given this is the NFL, the largest stick-and-ball league in America we're talking about here, if Roger Goodell wants them to do it, he will find a way to do it. Or he will find a way to use the league's collective power to punish the teams that don't, politics or the law be damned.

That would be retaliation though and he'd probably be slapped with lawsuits out the ass. You forget, he works at the behest of the owners, not the other way around.

As long as the money keeps rolling in, the owners would their families off if they had to.
So no, if I were Goodell, I would do exactly what I said and let the chips fall.

Again, HE CAN NOT DO THAT lmao. That's the part you're missing, for whatever reason. He works for the owners, they can vote him out in a heartbeat if he tried that. But if you were in his spot and wanted to lose your job over trying to blackmail the players, have at it lol. The Players Association would have a field day with that lawsuit.
