A house or apartment just isn't home unless both you and your beloved pet are welcome there. :P

Have you ever gave away/sold a pet before moving somewhere new?

Have you ever lived somewhere that didn't allow pets but you still had one anyway? Would you? Did you ever get caught? Would you rather move than get rid of your pet? ...or find him/her a new home?

My pets are my family and I would never give any of them up. While my house was being built, I needed to rent a house. After several phone calls to houses for rent ads, I found an owner that would allow my pets. All he asked for was extra security money in case my pets caused any damage. When I moved out, I got my security money back because my pets are very well behaved. :)

Thats good!
Landlords usually don't want to give up that deposit money.

I've had animals when they weren't allowed and got caught a couple times regarding the cat I had. Still didn't get rid of my cat though. They never did anything about it (like threaten to evict me) but when I moved out, the cat caused some damage that I had to pay for.

A lot of times a landlord will say "No Pets, but birds and fish are allowed" ...So if you like birds or fish, then you don't have to worry. Its the dogs and cats those landlords are stingy over.

We ended up with Wigglebutt because his people, a girl my wife used to work with and her 'friend', were moving to a No Pets Allowed place.

can you tell he LOVES the snow in Illinois?

His name is Scooter.

He's supposed to be a "morkie" (Maltese - Yorkie mix), but we think he's just a Wigglebutt.

My Pets are family to me and I will never just give them away! Not ever. It makes me sick that people do that. If you took on a dog in the first place, then you have a friend for a lifetime, cherish it, take care of it, and don't ever let it go.

It makes you sick that people find new homes for their dogs?
...Sometimes people don't have a choice, and sometimes the dog goes to a better home and has a better life as a result of being re-homed. :|

The part that makes me sick is getting an animal when you know you won't be able to take care of it...

Well yeah lots of people do that, act on impulse or whatever. As long as they do right by the dog and find them good home, they aren't so "sickening," at least not to me anyway. :dontknow:

I won't move unless it's an apartment that allows pets. I'll be moving next month and the kitties come with me. :3 So far I haven't had real trouble finding apartments that allow pets.

Will you have to pay a higher security deposit because of your kitties?
