No Windows 9?

Windows 10 is technically 7 with 8.1 elements implemented. Hopefully it'll make traditional users satisfied after a long time.

As a Windows 8.1 user I can say there are elements that are just ridiculous and did not need to be changed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the start bar, so I don't know why they were trying to consolidate everything into a mobile-like UI. I don't use my laptop as a phone so it didn't make sense to me. For a phone yes, but a computer, no. However they did do some things right with the Windows 8 UI that I think they could definitely keep. But why fix something when it isn't broken?

When it comes to interface design that'd be because you never know if something might actually be better until you try it. Same way the Quick Launch bar was more or less removed in Windows 7.

Oh I totally understand that. I'm not chastising Microsoft for trying something new. However, they took something great and tried to make it better and failed IMO. you live, you learn. At least bring the start bar back.

I suppose the numbering doesn't matter really. They've had some other bizarre names in the past so whatev's.
