Do you think nuclear weapons should be banned across the glob? Why or why not?

Nuclear weapons are the most inhumane and indiscriminate weapons ever created. It is time to end them, before they end us.

I don't know how you're going to convince certain countries to get rid of the one's they have. So everyone else will have them in order to retaliate. They're something that's a part of war.....

Perhaps we should keep one world managed nuclear arsenal in case of doomsday level threats, otherwise they should be dismantled.

I think we should ban them. They aren't safe and could cause a lot of irritation between nations.

The problem is that once a technology exists, even if it is legally banned, it doesn't mean that nobody is going to get their hands on the ones in existence, or to develop new ones.

Yes, they should be banned and disposed of, but how is that truly enforceable?

If nuclear weapons were banned it would go to chemical warfare and be worse. But even with that said, if you banned both all you would be doing is forcing countries if there was ever a war to have to fight on land and by sea the old fashioned way. While Nuclear weapons are terrible, it's the threat that they create that keeps countries safe at the exact same time.

Seems that they have not dropped on in many years and as long as they do not use them, we are good. As each government they won't let them go, they will keep them till they really want to use them. We all know what Russians are llike.

So this no and yes matter doesn't make any difference to what we say. If I was the boss of the world, I say yes and fully remove them and never use them.

We all know what Russians are llike.
Russia is no more or less terrifying than any other country with nuclear weapons.

Let's not forget that the only country in the world to have actually used nuclear weapons is the USA, and that is the same country that recently almost elected Donald Trump to be president for a second term. The idea of that man with his finger on a nuclear trigger scares me much more than Russia does.

Until we get the one leader deranged and fanatical enough to think they're cause justifies actually using them.

Using them is never justified unless the enemy has already attempted and succeeded entering you country. To be honest, if the enemy actually succeeded in a "war at home" it would be 100% justifiable completely.

Without that, there are many other methods to handle a War which involve entering the country, guided missals, air attacks, and also ground war.

I think our biggest fear is if North Korea ever gets their hands on it.
The US is the biggest threat to global peace, in my honest opinion. So, my biggest fear is that the US will use them (again) - which seems highly likely these days considering they elected Trump and could elect him or another madman again.

I'm all for banning them but there are certain countries that will never agree to that. That, unfortunately, means we have to keep ours as well as a sort of "deterrent". In a perfect world, no one would have nuclear weapons and no one would even threaten to use one but unfortunately, this isn't exactly a peaceful world.

This is such a big issue that officials in every local government system should consider the pros and cons of having a nuclear weapon.

There is no way at this point that they can be banned. There is power in having them and we see that some middle eastern countries are on their way to building them too....for the sake of power. No way they'll give that up.
