President Barack Obama has the authority to use an unmanned drone strike to kill US citizens on American soil, his attorney general has said.

Please.. what is the big deal? they always could, now only by a different method.

Don't cops shoot Americans on a daily basis?

The point is that Americans who are in country and have not entered into open armed revolt against the incumbent government are presumed innocent of treason (the only offense that mandates a death sentence in the Constitution) until convicted in a court of law.



His statement obliterates that statement.

I have to ask, though, did previous presidents not hold the same power?

They had the same power, just not the same technology.



In previous administrations, they had to rid themselves of inconvenient people through, say, plane crashes in Croatia.
