As Democrats attack Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for their proposals regarding Medicare, Republicans are circulating this clip from a November 9, 2009 interview we had with President Obama in which he not only acknowledged that one third of his health care bill was paid for by cuts to Medicare, but that he would veto attempts to undo those cuts.

Well, if the President is at least not cutting benefits, the country is good. If you think he's cutting the benefits in your honest opinion, then yes, people should start carrying Romney under our wings.

Obama's ACA strengthens medicare and those receiving benefits, all the while increasing the financial credibility of the program in the long-term.

The point was more about ABC saying something against Mister Obama more than anything about the health care bill.



And from what I've seen, it is up to the states to decide if and what to 'cut'.

States now have responsibility to create health insurance exchanges and decide whether or not to expand Medicaid coverage. The extent to which they choose to do so could determine how people perceive the law and the actual success of reform.

That sounds suspicious at best. What were they wasting so much money on if a $500000000000 decrease in funding doesn't affect anything adversely?

Seriously, how do people reconcile patriotism, the pledge of allegiance and the partial sovereignty of each state? I never got that.

In terms of the way the discussion in DC has been run historically, less of an expansion is a cut.
