Off Topix's best debater

I am really impressed by the quality of the debates that I see here on the forum. So as the topic title says it's just a friendly poll on who people think is the best debater on Off Topix. This is an opinion poll and doesn't reflect any more than that, so I hope this does not offend anyone. I added people to the poll based on activity in debates and nothing more, so if I left out someone on the poll, I apologize. You can choose the option of Other in that case.



This is tough for me to choose as I admire a lot of people's skills. DrLeftover, in my opinion, is indisputably a great debater and he makes debates interesting because he is very witty. I like Temerit's style also because he does his homework. Smooth sees both sides of the issue. People like Bluezone777 and Scarlet Rose are well-spoken. And I know from experience that EE is incredibly book smart.

This is a tough one, FD. I admire several people's debating skills, and at the same time, I look at others and see incredibly closed-minded stubbornness and an inability to even consider a different viewpoint.

It's going to be interesting to see what others have to say on this thread, and I hope it doesn't get out of hand here.

As I said I wanted this to be an interesting public opinion poll. I hope no one takes personal offense.Yeah there's a lot of different skills people contribute to debates and it's not always about who wins the debate but who brings up good points, looking at things from both sides, etc.

The best debater can back up everything they say using facts not emotions. They are able to see things from different sides. They withhold putting down a persons opinion. When an opinion is posted that they disagree with they again use facts to prove why. With that in mind, my vote goes to DrLeftover.

I've not seen too much of your writing here, but seeing more of your writing on Vivendi you are very well-written and you have a good head on your shoulders.

I think you are being too kind to me. I am quite lazy when it comes to posting.

I am still looking forward to seeing more of your posting here. As I did see hints that our approaches to topics share a fair amount in common. It made me think that you might be a Sociology major. Which was quite a pleasing thought!
